Arrival in Porto Alegre. Your guide will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to the hotel. In the evening, you will be invited to join the group for a contemporary dining experience.

Breakfast and then a walk to a traditional sweets store to get to know the delicacies produced in the region. 

Check-out of the hotel, the driver will take you to a guided tasting of natural wines.

Next, the driver will take the group to Bento Gonçalves with a stop for lunch at a steakhouse located in a traditional Germanic house. It will be served different cuts of meats (Brazilian rodízio) and a buffet with side dishes and desserts. It is the perfect opportunity to taste the authentic gaúcho barbecue. The trip continues after lunch for about 2 hours. 

Check-in at the hotel in Bento Gonçalves and rest. Then, leave for happy hour at Cachaçaria (distillery). There will be a tour to see the production process followed by tasting different types of cachaças produced there. Return to the hotel and free night.

Start the day with a walk through downtown Bento Gonçalves passing by Rua Coberta, a street with plenty to see and experience, culminating with a special visit to Aurora winery. You will be surprised by this experience that will change your view of Brazilian wine production. The activity ends with a guided tasting in a very high-quality oenology room. 

At the end of the morning, you’ll visit the Epopéia Italiana theatrical attraction that shows the history of the Italian immigrants in the region. Stop for lunch (on request) and rest at the hotel. Departure in the late afternoon for a tasting experience with olive oils and other regional products.

The next stop is the town of Garibaldi, where Chef Rodrigo Bellora runs the Valle Rústico restaurant. You’ll take a guided tour in the property’s vegetable garden to learn about the restaurant’s production, its cultivation of native bees, and Rodrigo’s work within the Slow Food network. 

The restaurant’s menu is seasonal, prepared according to the products available in the garden and among the local farmers. A six-course dinner of an elaborate menu, you’ll enjoy the aroma and flavor of the dishes, a connection with nature that aims to surprise you with its simplicity, excellence, and quality.

Departure after breakfast to the town of Pinto Bandeira, also known as the city of grapes, where most of the rural properties are vineyards. Visit the cellars of the award-winning Geisse Family, producer of some of the best sparkling wines in Brazil.

Inside the winery, you will learn all the details of making sparkling wine by the traditional method like the famous champagnes, where the second fermentation occurs inside the bottle.

Afterward, there will be a guided tasting of 4 labels inside the winery – an opportunity to get to know one of South America’s best sparkling wines that receive praise from critics worldwide.

In the mid-afternoon, it is time to visit the Tramontina kitchenware factory and head to Carlos Barbosa to board the Wine Train. During the trip, there is grape juice and wine tasting, theater, traditional gaucho music, Italian choir, and tarantella, a traditional Italian dance. The artists pass by the wagons and entertain the passengers. From the train window, you can see the landscapes of the Gaúcha Mountains. Finally, arrive in Bento Gonçalves and transfer to the hotel for rest.

Departure after breakfast to the Faria Lemos district for a full day of activities to learn about viticulture at the Cristofoli winery.

Bruna Cristofoli will welcome the group. She is a fourth-generation winemaker who has been producing wines and grapes on the same property since 1896. The first activity is a walk through the vineyards and participating in the grape harvest. Then, with enough grapes harvested, everyone is invited to take off their shoes, lift their pants, and step on the grapes, just as they used to do in the old days. The performance is accompanied by traditional Italian music.

In the late morning, there will be a tour around the winery area. Lunch will be served in the garden, next to the vineyard. The menu includes a starter, three main course options, and two dessert options.

Return to the hotel in the middle of the afternoon to rest. In the afternoon, you will join a special hands-on cooking class to learn the details of tortel production in an artisanal bakery. An exclusive experience prepared with care for you. The rest of the night is free.

Breakfast and check-out to begin the trip back to Porto Alegre and catch the return flight. We suggest scheduling a flight after 1 pm.
