Itinerary

Reception at Manaus International Airport (MAO). The driver will be waiting for you to take you to the Hotel, which is in a great location right in front of the Amazonas Theater. Check-in starts at 14:00. At the end of the day, meet with the group at the hotel restaurant, with a drink and welcome dinner included.

Start the day with a delicious breakfast, which includes regional fruit juices and tapioca with local cheese. Depart at 09:00 for a guided tour of the Municipal Market, the main gastronomic center of Amazonas. An experience full of smells and flavors in which we invite you to try X-Caboclinho, a delicious snack prepared with the tucuma palm fruit, one of Manauara’s favorites.

Next, a private speedboat will take us to the “meeting of the waters” followed by lunch at a restaurant on the river shore. In the late afternoon, we will return to the hotel to rest, and then dinner at the Caxiri restaurant, led by Chef Débora Shornik, an expert in fusing French techniques with regional ingredients.

After breakfast, we take the flight to the city of Tefé. It takes 1h20min flying over the Amazon forest, an impressive sight to admire!

Upon arrival in Tefé, our group will be taken by boat to the Floating Lodge Uakari, an incredible eco-lodge run by the local communities. Check-in at the rooms and then meet to enjoy caipirinhas made with seasonal fruits.

The lunch will be prepared by the lodge kitchen and includes fried Aruanã and pirarucu dumplings. In the afternoon, we will take a boat ride on Mamirauá Lake, the first experience of observing the fauna and landscapes of the Amazon. After dinner, a chat with the community to learn about the reserve and its objectives.

The days begin with a delicious breakfast consisting of bread, tapiocas, cold cuts, eggs, jams, and regional fruit juices. Then, the main activities will be divided between nature walks and cooking classes.

One of the day’s main activities is a guided visit to a small village. There, we will visit the “flour house,” where you will learn about the artisanal process of grinding the manioc and pressing the dough using the tipiti. The tipiti is a natural straw squeezer produced by indigenous communities to extract the liquid from the manioc, resulting in tucupi (the yellow liquid extracted from wild manioc) and the dough, which will be toasted, thus turning into the Farinha d’Agua (water flour).

During the trip, the boat rides are an excellent opportunity to observe the wildlife. The Mamiraua Lake is inhabited by countless species of birds, sloths, monkeys, including the Pink Dolphin! The Uakari monkey, a native of the region, gives its name to the reserve that favors its conservation.

After breakfast, transfer to the city of Tefé. Next, return flight to Manaus.
