Stunning views, beautiful place to visit with so much history. The Retiro do Escova restaurant was brilliant, excellent food and great service. I didn't have a car so I depended on public transport which was economic and handy to go to visit other towns nearby.

If you are interested in history and things other than beaches, this area is surprisingly full of excellent places to visit, and virtually empty of the usual crowds. The Roman ruins are some of the best in Portugal. Also just 2 hours south of Lisbon airport, so very convenient stop on way to Algrave.

You must go for dinner, the hotel owner is also the chef and he knows what is the best. No menu, no buffet, just sit and wait for it. You will receive crème de la crème of the freshest and best local meals cooked with love. It is not even 3* Michelin experience, but you will maybe enjoy even more.

The apartment is a stylish conversion of an older building & has all modern conveniences. It has a pretty shared courtyard with 2 other apartments. Lalia, the owner, is so friendly and helpful. Daily cleaning is offered if required. We would definitely choose to stay here again if we re-visit the area. All in all, truly excellent.

The staff was very kind and welcoming. We came down to have breakfast at 8:50 and most of the food was gone lol. So be early for your breakfast. It's also a good place for kids with very nice places to play with them. Staff is very kind and attentious.
